Yarn Tube

A resource of videos we find inspirational, educational or just exciting about Yarn, Wool, Environment and our connections to the history of wool-craft in Wales.

Why Wool Matters

A 20minute documentary on how wool plays a part in the UK and across the world on our future of sustainability.

Produced by the Campaign for Wool, and featuring HRH King Charles III as a presenter.

At the Yarnhouse love this as a way to understand how important it is to understand our own supply chains and the part we can play locally to help with the global efforts.

Knitting Nanas of South Wales

The 'Knitting Nanas' have been meeting for seven years and are now teaching students in South Wales how to knit.

They say it helps them tackle loneliness in old age while passing new skills to the younger generation.

We love this video as it stands for everything we do.... and some of our customers and friends are featured in this too.

BBC Fabric of Britain: Knitting's golden age

BBC documentary series. How knitting rose from basic craft to the height of popular fashion in the 20th century.

It's a craft that has given us scratchy jumpers, sexy bathing costumes and the infamous poodle loo cover, has sustained Britain through the hardships of war and shown a mother's love to generations of little ones.
